late july already?

This summer is going incredibly fast. Every time I think I'm going to get a post in, it doesn't happen. It's been an enjoyable summer thus far despite the below average temperatures. How often can you say in the middle of July that the a/c is off (and has been for almost a week). The ceiling fans and open windows provide enough air flow to keep us at a decent temperature. However, I really like the heat and don't mind the 90 degree temps....just come before school starts! I would like to enjoy the swimming pool a lot more this summer. Jacob had his first boat ride a couple weeks ago. We were pretty surprised with how well he did with the lifejacket tied around him the entire time.


Along the weather topic (which is my 2nd calling) some of you know about the nasty hail storm we had almost 2 weeks ago. It was quite something...had never seen hail this big before and quite frankly would never like to see it that big again.

We are finished dealing with the insurance part of it (for now) and are now trying to figure out the roofing and deck project and when they will take place. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. We just got the car all squared away - sent off to the salvage yard and we found ourselves an '02 ford explorer. We like being back to a 2 car family - it was difficult to delay Jacobs naps so we could go pick up Nate from work. Once or twice the delivery car was in our driveway if he closed and then had to open the next morning. But it all worked out.

We look forward to heading to CO in a few days to see some family. My sister was married in HI earlier this summer and they are having their reception. Jacob will have fun playing with his 3 cousins.

The beans need a pickin' so I better head outside to do that task while Jacob is napping. We'll try to post after our trip.
