We wanted to let you all know that we received our Home Study packet and we are now officially approved! Yeah for us! Its a 13 page long document about us...amazing that someone was able to write 13 pages about us - single spaced!
Anyway, this now allows us to begin the process of filling out and submitting grants to aid us financially. It also eases any uncertainty of our approval status and makes us feel that much more certain that this is the way God has directed us.
We just returned from Michigan this evening where we were privileged to have spent time talking with many of you. Thank you for your concern and care during our process. All kind words are appreciated!
Prayer requests:
-That we may find adequate time to fill out our forms for different grants we are applying for.
-That we may be blessed beyond our wildest dreams with financial assistance - we know God is capable of doing even more than what we ask!!!
-For any mothers that may be considering adoption. We never know when the mother of our child may be making the decision that could change our lives!
-Remember that just because Easter is over, doesn't mean that we forget about the resurrection. Celebrate everyday!

Praise God from whom ALL Blessings Flow
This week has certainly been a week of blessings. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support. We finished setting up the crib this morning, maybe we'll put a picture up when the bedding is on it.
A couple things that we need to work on in soon:
*filling out grant applications (very time consuming)
*we need to have a living will before the placement of a child, so we need to find a lawyer and get that taken care of
*I also need to find a Cardinals outfit - since Nate has the Cubs. Opening day is just a few days away! Go Cardinals!
We were blessed to attend the Katelyn's Fund meeting on Thursday evening. We enjoy meeting new people who are going through the same trials that we are. While at this meeting a gal talked about a video online that she saw - When Love Takes You In. Here's the link: http://www.christianadopt.org/cadoptvideo.php
We look forward to the day that a child can be placed in our arms and it may be called ours!

Profile In
Hey all,
Another Monday...boring ol' Monday...except that it wasn't for us. Today, Nate brought our now completely finished profiles in to Bethany Chr. Services. We finished them late last night...or was it early this morning? Yes, it was this morning...sometime around 1:00 a.m. But, its done and we think that it looks pretty good. We have made one extra copy of it, so if you would ever like to see it, we are very open to showing it to people. So just ask!
Another wonderful thing today was the support that we received. Multiple people today completely unexpectedly donated money to us! We also got a very soft baby blanket from some close friends. Last week, we received another "bag o' baby stuff" that will certainly be put to use. That's God at work, for sure. Then we received a card today from a young women who we would have NEVER thought that we would hear from. She gave us encouraging words! That was very cool.
When I (Nate) was in the Bethany office today, they told me that the "approver" has been very busy lately and that is why we haven't received our confirmation of our approval. They say its nothing to worry about, but we still ask for your prayers about this as at this point it is an uncertainty.
That is all for now! Thanks for reading. Please cheer for Michigan State this weekend in the Big Ten Tournament!

Amazing
God works in such amazing ways. We have definitely been experiencing God's grace and mercy lately. We can't explain how honored we are to be your friends and family. Your love, support, gifts and PRAYERS have surrounded us, comforted us, and given us a happy feeling. The timing has been perfect. When we're feeling down, a message is sent to us, or someone calls and uplifts our spirits.
I (MB) have currently been reading the book, "Adoption is a Family Affair! What Relatives and Friends Must Know" If you have lots of questions about adoption or are unsure of what/how it all happens, this is a great book!
We still have not gotten official word from Bethany stating we are approved, we were told it would come this week. We also do not have the profile done...our birthparent letter is officially written, not tweaked though. We are SO close!
I'll update again as soon as we have OFFICIAL word!

...the word is out...
Yesterday and today (and tomorrow will be) have been big "telling days" for us. It's not really a secret anymore that we are adopting. We do have many relatives that we would like to contact yet.
Tomorrow we will be speaking at Middleburg's church about our adoption process and how that has impacted our walk with Christ.
We are still waiting for our official approval, and hope it happens soon. Our birthmother letter is written - our social worker is making a few suggestions for us and will get that back to us in a few days. When we have that back, then we'll add that to our profile to make it complete. We have been taking our profile book wherever we go when we think we'll run into people we want to tell about our adoption.
Happy March!!!
