I forgot to mention in my other post today that we are having a Tupperware Fundraiser. Here is the link to the catalog: http://catalogs.shoplocal.com/Tupperware/index.aspx?pagename=shopmain&fsid=8d7ff808-5e61-4558-bfcb-6730bb5123c2&storeid=1033893&pagenumber=1&circularid=12794&batchid=669593
You cannot buy online, but you can look through the catalog online, and email us what you would like and send us a check in the mail.
We receive 40% of the sales! This is a great way to help us on our adoption journey. We have not heard back on any of the grants we have applied for and cannot count on those. We have around $9-10,000 to go. Plus we'll have all court and attorney fees to pay as well. If you would like to see a catalog let me know and I can get one to you as well.
We hope to wrap this up by next Friday, June 6.
Thank you!
The journey to and adoption of Jacob Ethan (2008) Christian James (2012)and our lives in between!

Painted
The room is painted! On Wednesday, Nate's sister Sarah helped us paint the yellow base of the room. Then, Thursday evening Nate and I painted the dots on the wall. It went pretty fast, despite the many weather interruptions we had to check out on the t.v. I'll figure out a spot to put a picture or two on here. The room isn't put back together completely yet, but I know some of you are waiting to see these pictures!
There is no news on the adoption itself. But you can pray for us as we await a phone call saying we have been matched with a birthmom. This is certainly difficult waiting, and we've only been waiting 2 1/2 months.
Happy Summer!

Adoptions...
Sometimes we get asked "Is it sad when other friends of yours are having a baby?" or "Is it hard when other parents are placed with an adopted child?" I was thinking about that today. I (Nate) had the day off today, so I watched "An Adoption Story" on Discovery Health. Clearly, this is the first time I have spent more than 2.8 seconds on that station. I often go by it though, because ESPN, ESPN Classic, and ESPN2 are right next to it on the Sheldon cable. Anyway...this program gave insight for me into what things may be like on That Day. Today, some friends of ours that we have met through our adoption process are celebrating That Day. Congratulations to Ryan, Heidi & Aniah De Kruyf on their adoption of a beautiful baby girl Eden Elizabeth Hope. Here are some pictures: http://www.dekruyfadoption.blogspot.com/
Sometimes it can be hard when someone our age does have a child. But we have to understand that our time simply isn't God's time. Our world is such a "rushed" world. We live in an instant world. I recently listened to a sermon from Mars Hill church in Michigan from a man named Matthew Sleeth. Apparently he has written a book on time and seems like he knows what he is talking about. Anyway, Mary Beth and I have come to understand that our time isn't now. Other people's time is now. All we can do is rejoice with them! Today we rejoice with the De Kruyf's!

Spring!!
Spring is finally officially here I feel. The weather was excellent today! It's been awhile since we have posted - the end of April and we're half way through May now!
One of our grants is being reviewed this month. We had also received word that another grant would be reviewed this month, but after further review they have decided to wait until July to review it (unless progress is made with our adoption). This was kind of discouraging, but at the same rate we understand and know it's all part of the plan.
Yesterday we met with our lawyer regarding a 'will'. It's something we need to have in place before being placed with a child. We (more like our lawyer) are getting that put together.
We continue to praise God as we have been richly blessed with financial gifts. We cannot express enough gratitude toward you all. We have been blown away by your generosity.
One thing we have been encouraged to do is to continue living life as normal. As difficult as that can be during our waiting. On the 10th Mary Beth graduated with her Master's Degree in Teaching. What an accomplishment! We have also both started up in our golf leagues and are enjoying that activity. May also brings tulips to bloom and plan to spend some time at the tulip festival.
Mary Beth had the afternoon off from school because of a track meet. She purchased paint for the baby room and will now have something to do with her summer. Many people are asking her what she's going to do with her summer (the past 3 have been in class). Hopefully we can have a baby! But painting will keep her busy.
